Abstract

The focus of this practice-based research has been to explore ways to attend and direct to the state of attention during a dance performance through the embodied practices of breathwork, eventually embarking a performance making journey composed mainly by improvisation that is informed by the breath. I hoped that by exploring the breath and practicing the state of attention, it would lead me to deepen my understanding of engineering, living, transforming and refining the performance experience, thus contributing to my performative skills as a contemporary dance artist.
