  • Performance I had a busy year as a harmonica player, reaching the finals of Germany’s Got Talent and performing with Lee Oskar (of WAR and Lee Oskar Harmonicas) at the NAMM festival in the USA. I’m proud to represent a younger generation pushing the harmonica into contemporary genres. My beatbox harmonica style continues to grow in popularity; as of July 2025, I have nearly 250,000 followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. • AI Songwriting (March 2024 – August 2024)
    ICMP ( other education organisation)
Last year I completed a seed funded research project at ICMP on the implications of AI Songwriting for third level assessments. I submitted a portfolio of AI composed songs to a level 4 assessment. The songs received a distinction, which highlights the implications this technology may have for third level assessments. I presented my findings at ICMP’s career convention and recently contributed an article to Hot Press Magazine, Ireland’s most widely read music publication.

  • Song Studies (July 2024 – July 2025)
Amsterdam University Press ( other education organisation)
I have just completed a peer review of a chapter that I am contributing for the book “Song Studies” which is due to be published by Amsterdam University Press later this year. “Song Studies” will feature 18 chapters by several inter-disciplinary academics and examines the many different ways songs can be studied, and in turn what they can tell us about identity, society and human history. My contribution focuses on the ethnomusicology of the Irish Travelling Community, who have made a substantial contribution to the development of folk music in Ireland and further afield. The research is strongly underpinned by normative ethics within modern ethnomusicology and involves working closely with members of the Irish Travelling community on a series of oral history interviews.
